The Chinese Journal of Cancer Prevention & Treatment (CJCPT) is committed to preserving the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scientific literature. When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified in published articles, the journal will take appropriate editorial action to ensure that the published record remains transparent and trustworthy.
If an article contains an error that does not compromise the overall validity of the research findings, the journal may publish a formal Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum). Examples include:
All corrections will be clearly linked to the original publication to maintain transparency.
A published article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that its findings are unreliable or when serious breaches of publication ethics have occurred. Retraction may be considered in cases including, but not limited to:
A retraction notice will explain the reason for the retraction and will remain permanently linked to the original article. The original article will remain part of the scholarly record but will be clearly identified as retracted.
If an investigation is ongoing and conclusive evidence is not yet available, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern to inform readers of potentially significant issues affecting the reliability or integrity of the article until the investigation is completed.
Requests for corrections or concerns regarding published articles may be submitted by authors, readers, reviewers, or institutions. The Editorial Office will evaluate each case carefully and may request supporting documentation before reaching a decision. Where appropriate, the journal may consult independent experts or the authors' affiliated institutions during the investigation.
The journal handles corrections, retractions, and other post-publication updates in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Editorial decisions are made objectively, fairly, and with the primary aim of protecting the integrity of the scientific record.
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with evolving international publication ethics, editorial best practices, and recognized scholarly publishing standards.
