Preservation Policy

Long-Term Preservation Commitment

The Chinese Journal of Cancer Prevention & Treatment (CJCPT) is dedicated to preserving the scholarly record by maintaining secure, reliable, and long-term access to all published articles. The journal adopts digital preservation practices that ensure published content remains accessible, authentic, and protected against accidental loss or technological changes.

Persistent Article Identification

Every published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which serves as a permanent and unique identifier. The DOI enables stable citation, efficient discovery, and uninterrupted access to the official version of the article regardless of future changes to the journal's website or publishing platform.

Publication File Formats

To support accessibility, interoperability, and digital preservation, articles are maintained in multiple electronic formats, including:

  • PDF as the official publication format.
  • XML to facilitate indexing, metadata exchange, and long-term preservation.
  • Standard bibliographic metadata for use by indexing and abstracting services.

Archiving Infrastructure

The journal preserves its published content through secure digital storage systems and trusted archiving platforms. Regular backups are maintained to minimize the risk of data loss and to ensure the continued availability of the published record.

Published articles may also be archived through recognized web preservation services such as Internet Archive (Archive.org) to provide an additional layer of long-term public access.

Integrity and Availability

Appropriate technical safeguards are implemented to maintain the integrity, authenticity, and security of published materials. The Editorial Office routinely monitors archived content and performs backup procedures to protect against data corruption or system failures.

Ongoing Preservation Strategy

The journal periodically evaluates its preservation practices and digital infrastructure to ensure continued compliance with evolving scholarly publishing standards and advances in digital archiving technologies.

International Best Practices

CJCPT supports internationally accepted principles of digital preservation and is committed to maintaining the permanent availability of the scholarly record through persistent identifiers, standardized publication formats, and secure archival systems.
