Commitment to Research Transparency

The Chinese Journal of Cancer Prevention & Treatment (CJCPT) supports responsible data sharing as an important element of transparent, reproducible, and trustworthy scientific research. Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their published findings available whenever it is ethically, legally, and practically possible.

Availability of Research Data

Authors are encouraged to deposit research datasets, supporting materials, protocols, statistical analyses, and supplementary files in recognized public or institutional data repositories. Shared data should be sufficiently detailed to enable other researchers to verify, reproduce, or build upon the published work.

Where data cannot be made publicly available due to ethical, legal, confidentiality, or privacy restrictions, authors should clearly explain these limitations within the manuscript.

Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript indicating:

• Where the supporting data can be accessed.
• The name of the repository and accession number, DOI, or persistent link, where applicable.
• Any conditions or restrictions governing access to the data.

If no data are available for sharing, authors should provide a brief explanation.

Protection of Confidential Information

Data containing personally identifiable information or confidential patient records must be appropriately anonymized before being shared. Authors must ensure that data sharing complies with applicable privacy laws, ethical requirements, and informed consent agreements.

Editorial Consideration

Editors may request additional information regarding the availability of research data during the editorial or peer review process. When necessary, authors may be asked to provide supporting datasets or documentation to facilitate scientific evaluation.

Benefits of Data Sharing

The journal recognizes that responsible data sharing promotes research transparency, strengthens scientific credibility, encourages collaboration, and increases the reproducibility of published findings. While data sharing is strongly encouraged, the journal acknowledges that legitimate ethical, legal, or proprietary restrictions may limit public access in certain circumstances.

International Best Practices

CJCPT encourages data sharing in accordance with the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the ethical guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and other internationally recognized principles for responsible research and scholarly publishing.
